Ontario Conservation Areas Photo Contest

Oct 09, 2009 -

North Bay – Mattawa Conservation Authority announces an Ontario Conservation Areas Photo Contest.

The NBMCA in conjunction with Conservation Ontario is inviting the public to submit photos that were taken in Conservation Areas.

People from across the area are invited to snap photos of friends and family enjoying one of the NBMCA's 14 Conservation Areas and Trails and submit the photos to Conservation Ontario's photo contest.

"Experiencing nature is often the first step to appreciating our environment," explains Brian Tayler, General Manager of the North Bay – Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA). "Conservation Areas offer friends and families a great opportunity to spend time together, while being physically active."

Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities collectively own and operate close to 250 public conservation areas. Conservation areas play an important environmental, educational and recreational role in Ontario and contribute to the physical and mental wellbeing of the more than 4.5 million Ontarians who visit them each year.
Closer to home, the NBMCA is responsible for 12 unique conservation areas and two recreation trails throughout the region.. The conservation areas range from Eau Claire Gorge on Highway 17 to the Laurentian Escarpment located at the top of the ski hill in North Bay. All of the NBMCA’s conservation areas have free admission 365 days of the year and a complete description can be found at www.nbmca.on.ca.
