Transferring Ownership of a Property
Permits & Approvals

The NBMCA also provides services for those transferring ownership of properties (ex: buying/selling). Under the Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alterations to Shorelines and Watercourses Regulations, the NBMCA will inform applicants whether or not a property is regulated by the NBMCA under Ontario regulation 162/90, pursuant to Section 28 of the Conservation Authorities Act of Ontario.

If the property is indeed regulated by the NBMCA, the applicant is informed that property owner(s) are required to obtain a Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alterations to Shorelines and Watercourses Permit prior to undertaking any site alteration activities and/or any construction or renovation work on the subject property. The applicant is also informed as to whether or not there are any outstanding work orders registered against the subject property.

To find out if the property you are interested in buying or selling is regulated, please contact the NBMCA.
