The Foster Wild Environmental Fund

The Foster Wild Environmental Fund was established by the North Bay - Mattawa Conservation Authority in 1994 as the fundraising arm of the NBMCA.  The Fund operates in close association with the NBMCA but is led by the Fund’s volunteer Board of Directors. Any of the NBMCA's projects, programs or services requesting Foster Wild Environmental Fund support must meet the Board’s criteria and approval.

The Foster Wild Environmental Fund raises funds through charitable bingos and nevada ticket sales, individual and corporate donations, and donations of time and/or services. The Fund also relies on a large volunteer base to coordinate fundraising, participate on the Board of Directors, or act as labourers for projects involving construction.

Donors to the Foster Wild Environmental Fund receive a tax receipt for donations over $20.00. Donors and volunteers also receive the satisfaction of knowing their money and/or time has gone to a good cause within their community. Recent projects sponsored by the Foster Wild Environmental Fund include:

The NBMCA’s Mattawa River Canoe Race
The Dorothy Walford Memorial / Ward Smith Awards Banquet
The NBMCA’s Earth Week program for the general public
The North Bay Efficient Energy Forum & Trade Show
The Natural Classroom Environmental Education programs
